The Alberta Rural Entrepreneur Stream (AAIP) is a provincial immigration pathway for experienced international entrepreneurs who want to start or purchase a business in a participating rural Alberta community.

From initial assessment and community introductions to establishing and operating your business, we provide personalized, long-term support throughout your journey.
Program at a Glance
The program is designed for experienced business owners and senior managers who are prepared to actively operate a business in rural Alberta.

Minimum net worth: CAD $300,000

Minimum equity investment: CAD $100,000
Start a new business or purchase an eligible existing business
Actively manage the business and live in the community
Create at least one full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Obtain a Community Support Letter from a participating community
Entrepreneurs who successfully meet the program and business performance requirements may receive provincial nomination and apply for permanent residence in Canada.

Intrinsic works with municipalities and economic development organizations across rural Alberta to understand local business needs and opportunities. We then help entrepreneurs identify communities that align with their experience, business plans, investment goals, and future in Canada.
Our support can include community research, introductions, exploratory visits, business opportunity assessments, market tours, and Community Support Letter coordination.

Getting to Alberta is only the beginning.
Entrepreneurs are required to establish or purchase their business, actively manage its operations, and meet their approved business commitments before proceeding to provincial nomination.
Intrinsic continues to work with entrepreneurs after they arrive, helping them establish their business, build local networks, make connections, access professional services, and become part of their community.
Our support can continue for up to two years, depending on the needs of the entrepreneur and business.
